About Bill Roche…
Background/Education:
The Executive Strategies Group LLC is headed by Bill Roche. Born and and raised in Scranton, PA, he attended Central High School there and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Social and Behavioral Studies with a concentration in Economics and History from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. He received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC.
Experience:
Bill spent his legal career in Washington working for the federal government and trade associations. He began as a lawyer working for the U.S. House of Representative’s Banking Committee’s Subcommittee on Consumer Affairs. He later worked successively for the Health Industry Manufacturers Association (manufacturers of medical devices and diagnostics), Edison Electric Institute (shareholder-owned electric utilities) and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (rural electric cooperatives).
Insight:
Bill’s experience with large national trade associations (and their related industries) together with his experience working for Congress have provided him with a solid understanding not only of how the industries interface with the government, but also of the challenges faced by both in carrying out their assigned roles.
Versatility:
In his role as corporate counsel, providing in-house operating advice to associations, Bill worked in a wide variety of subject matter areas along with staff from a plethora of disciplines — accountants, attorneys, auditors, environmental engineers, marketing experts, government relations professionals, human resources professionals, engineers, information technology experts, trade association executives, writers and web experts among others.
High-Functioning Organizations:
Because of his interest in learning how to improve organizational systems, Bill enrolled in a program at Georgetown University in organization development and was awarded a Certificate in Organization Development upon completion.
Bill has appeared as a guest on CNN to discuss coaching, and has been interviewed by Lawyers Weekly USA, The Washington Times, Entrepreneur Magazine and Association Management Magazine.
Outisde Interests:
When not working with clients to help them achieve the results they want (whether in area of executive coaching, career transitions or management consulting modes), Bill enjoys digital photography, foreign languages and cultures, travel throughout the US and the world, and following the Internet’s rapidly accelerating expansion of organizational, relational and communication capabilities.
Working With People:
Bill especially enjoys working with people and helping them discover ways to become more successful in their work, life and career.
